UNICEF annually invites Nord Anglia student ambassadors to present their ideas on the SDGs at an event during the United Nations High Level Political Forum, which takes place at the Headquarters of the United Nations in New York City. This is a unique opportunity for Nord Anglia students to contribute to the discussion and influence policy at the highest level.

Day 1 (6 July 2018)
During of the long flight to New York, our students tried to make use of their time reading the related documents and revise their presentations for the conference. Arriving the JFK Airport in New York, the Southeast Asian students group had the opportunity to meet and greet with delegates from other areas before heading to their hotels together. In the evening they had a great time sharing some pizza in Times Square with new friends from all around the world.
Day 2 (7 July 2018)
The 2nd day of the trip marked a busy schedule for all UNICEF’s ambassadors. They took the subway to Nord Anglia International School New York (NAISNY) to prepare for the Model United Nations (MUN)’s conference, which will take place in the next few days. Some additional activities as World Bank imitation conference, workshop for journalists or preparation for the Gala Dinner will also be going on at different areas at NAISNY.
Day 3 (8 July 2018)
The 3rd day of the trip began with our students' participation in the Model United Nation Conference. We have seen the drastic improvements of delegates in the way they presented and shared ideas. After the MUN Conference finished, we headed to the UNICEF Headquarter to meet up with the 2 representatives from Go Green programme who coordinates with all UNICEF’s offices in the world. Through the interesting conversation, our students have been motivated that by raising our voices and taking action, they totally could be able to bring better changes to the community around.
Day 4 (9 July 2018)
Our students have joined a range of meaningful activities at the Nord Anglia International School, New York. They have visited the Headquarters of the United Nations, attended seminars at the UNICEF House on the goals, and enjoyed excursions across the city.
Day 6 (11 July 2018)
"Although today’s main focus is workshops, as a report writer, I spent most of the day up in one of the classrooms to work on the report for UNICEF. I had applied in advance to be involved in a report on the results of the Global Goals survey, which was sent out by Nord Anglia Education to its international student body of over 50,000 students addressing the Sustainable Development Goals. I was quite intimidated at first, knowing that other students in the report writing team are all very talented, but we still had loads of fun together and got to know each other really well. Overall, I feel extremely honoured to be chosen to take part in such an important activity - to prepare a report to be sent to UNICEF."
