Dear Parents,
I would like to say a big thank you to our parents who made teachers feel extra special this week. Teacher’s Day always comes as a surprise to our staff who are not familiar with this lovely Vietnamese tradition. The flowers in our foyer, offices and classrooms brought smiles to all our faces in addition to the lovely messages received.
It is always great to celebrate student achievements here at BIS. Many achievements are acknowledged in school by teachers, however, when certificates are received through the post and BIS students are recognised externally, this is a cause for real celebration. Read about the excellent IGCSE attainment of 3 of our students in Mathematics below.
This week, I also had the pleasure of meeting with all the students who recently competed in the Under 15 FOBISIA Games in Phuket. Armed with medals and trophies, it was plain to see that our squad of 24 enjoyed successes in the following events: swimming, athletics, football and basketball. Congratulations, another proud moment for our Lionhearts!
Finally, I was pleased to see our young leaders on the stage in the Primary Assembly presenting about new, student-led initiatives to reward those children who are reliably encouraging spoken English in our canteen. Congratulations to Maelle and Abraham who are the first recipients of the House and Vice-Captain awards.
Ms Sue Hill
Principal
We have had an action-packed agenda of inter-house activities, Christmas performances from Foundation Stage and Year 1, and today we had our Principal’s Award Assembly for the whole school.
I hope you have all had a good week and are beginning to get into the festive spirit ahead of the holiday season.
Thank you to all families who joined us to be entertained with our Secondary theatre production of A Little Shop of Horrors this week.
From Sunday onwards, we have had our CIS/WASC visiting team here at school. This has been a great opportunity to share all the wonderful things that we are providing for our students across all sections and to gain further insight and ideas to help us improve even further.
