At BIS Hanoi, we get our young learners actively involved in the classroom. For instance, Year 3 students had the opportunity to learn about the typical breakfast in Spain and also the one in France.

In order to make it more interesting, the MFL (Modern Foreign Language) Department organised a complete breakfast feast! The students learned about the names of the ingredients, how to say if they like it or not, and if the food is healthy or not in Spain and/or France. They were then enjoying the food as well!

Such methods are employed to enhance our understanding of the target language culture, as well as benefiting from the advantages of using visual, audio and tactile materials. The resulting mixture of styles means that our teaching will be more appropriate for a wider range of learners. Actively engaging students motivate deeper thinking about the language content, brings additional energy to our classrooms, and helps the teacher and the students to identify problem areas. Feedback can be immediately given by the teacher and the opportunities for improvement are multiplied by the motivation and the engagement.

Learning languages at BIS Hanoi is always delicious!
