Key Dates | Primary Learning Highlights
Dear Parents,
One of the challenges for our students during Virtual School is ensuring that they have time to interact and socialise with one another. Our teachers are always innovating and looking for new ways to enhance learning and opportunities for the students.
Over the last few weeks Ms. Clark, one of our Year 3 teachers, introduced Kumospace to the children. Kumospace is a wonderful platform that allows our students to play games, interact and have fun whilst being supervised by a teacher in a safe environment. Our students have been sharing some fantastic feedback about Kumospace and are certainly enjoying having time to connect with friends outside of lessons.
This week’s spotlight on learning is Year 4 - and I hope you enjoy seeing the learning that has been taking place over the last few weeks in that year group.
Finally, it has been wonderful seeing our EYFS students coming to collect their learning packs this week. Some of them were meeting their teachers for the first time in person and enjoyed seeing their new classrooms. We can’t wait to welcome you all back to school - and hope it won’t be too much longer before we can.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Rebecca Carroll
Head of Primary
Entering Term 1B, Year 4s started their new Entry topic called "Explorers and Adventurers". They dressed in warm clothes and became intrepid Arctic explorers. It was such a thrilling journey for all students. They also participated in a range of fascinating activities across different subjects.
Let's watch some of the wonderful learning that has been taking place over the last few weeks in Year 4.
As the academic year whirls by, the first term in primary school draws to a close, marking the end of a whirlwind of learning, growth, and new experiences.
As we move towards the end of term, our Primary exit points are always a great celebration of learning that has taken place over previous weeks and months.
At BIS, in addition to the excellent opportunities we are providing in the classroom, we enrich the students experiences and learning by taking them on day trips.
