Caring for our community To be involved in a meaningful project and create a real impact on the lives of others is a pledge we are happy to make.

Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation is a charitable funded non-governmental organisation in Hanoi and one of our school’s community partners.

The organisation provides a variety of services to help children escape family crisis situations and create long-term change for Vietnamese children and a better world.

Over the years, BIS Hanoi has accompanied Blue Dragon with charity and community support from our students, parents, and staff. A few of the outstanding projects we worked on with Blue Dragon have been the Year 8 Community Project in 2018, the Halloween Fundraiser in 2020, and the Sponsored Run with Year 6 in 2021.

This year, we decided to support Blue Dragon Children's Foundation by donating the proceeds from our recent International Festival and Halloween fundraiser. A total of 59 million Vietnam Dong was collected. Most of the proceeds will be used to support Blue Dragon’s “Flourish” workshop series. The main purpose of the Flourish initiative is to provide tools and techniques for young girls to feel empowered, enhance their leadership skills (for example by developing their public speaking skills), and take ownership of their own lives.

We are grateful to Blue Dragon for their message of thanks and acknowledgement certificate. We'd like to pass on the word to the BIS community, and thank all for your generous donations to this worthy cause. Without your help, we would not have been able to achieve this significant outcome.

Our Primary school is currently running a Christmas appeal in benefit of the Blue Dragon children and their families. There is still time to contribute! Check our Facebook page for details.

At BIS Hanoi, we believe our students should make a positive contribution to the world and understand their responsibility as global citizens. As a result, we place a high value on active community service and charitable support to teach our students the importance of giving back to the community. To be involved in a meaningful project and create a real impact on the lives of others is a pledge we are happy to make.
