Year 10's Trip to Da Lat

Year 10s Trip to Da Lat | BIS Hanoi - Year 10s Trip to Da Lat
We arrived in sunny Dalat after an early start on Tuesday morning and had the opportunity to visit the Lam Dong Hearing Impaired School, which houses young children who cannot hear or speak. We all had a wonderful time learning some Vietnamese Sign Language, interacting with the children, and seeing their study and living spaces. We also were able to donate three large bags, so a huge thank you to our students for contributing so generously! We then visited the Crazy House, which contains lots of interesting sculptures and beautifully designed pieces of architecture in the centre of the city.

After a nice boat ride to our campsite, we all had an interesting night’s sleep in tents after some marshmallow toasting around a huge fire, and of course, what’s a campfire without some karaoke?!

On Wednesday morning, our students took part in some team-building activities, which were highly enjoyable. Our students were able to build rafts and then test these out in the lake, as well as do some activities that required great teamwork, communication, and leadership. Then, after making our way to the hotel, we enjoyed the night market and all that Dalat has to offer at night!

We had the opportunity to go abseiling down a mountain on Thursday! We ascended 25 meters and hiked for several hours in the countryside. We also had the chance to go to the beautiful Van Thanh Flower Garden. Stay tuned, as we have yet to visit the Alpine Coaster and the Datanla Waterfalls.

Our students have been wonderful, a credit to us all, and we’ve had a lovely time!
