Secondary School Update (28 April 2023) | BIS Hanoi - Secondary School Update

Weekly update from Head of Secondary

Dear Parents,

Term 3 is always a very busy time in international schools, and BIS Hanoi is no exception. Our Year 11 and Year 13 students begin their examinations on Friday, and there has been a great deal of activity in preparation for setting up those exams, which will occur in the auditorium. We ask that if you are visiting school and need to be on the 3rd floor at any time, please remain silent as you pass the examination hall this time. We wish our students all the very best for their examinations. We know that they will give them their full effort and attention, and we're confident that they will achieve some excellent results.

While exams occur, our enrichment and activities continue in earnest. Block 3 has begun smoothly, and many students are involved in exciting clubs that will aid their learning and development. In Term 3, there are a number of sporting fixtures where BIS students play against partner schools in Hanoi. It is great to see and hear lots of support happening around the school. This week we also had our first Sports Day in many years, where Years 7 to 9 students were involved in games and sports out on the field on Thursday. Great fun was had by all. I really enjoyed the tug-of-war competition at the end of the day between the Houses and I know the students and teachers did too.

We have a short break over the coming weekend. On Friday, the 28th, teachers will engage in a professional learning day while students enjoy a mid-term day off. We then have a public holiday next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We look forward to seeing students back on Thursday, May 4th.
