BIS Hanoi Student Ambassadors Attend NAE UNICEF Summit 2023 in New York

Da In and Robyn in Year 10 (soon to be Year 11) had the huge privilege of attending the Nord Anglia Education UNICEF Summit 2023.

As part of Nord Anglia’s exclusive partnership with UNICEF, the girls joined students from 60 Nord Anglia schools around the globe to learn how to have effective discussions and advocacy around key global issues. They also got to speak to UNICEF experts, from various areas of UNICEF’s work, at the careers fair, as well as learning from educators from World’s Largest Lesson and Generation Global.

The conference specifically centred around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of goals set out by the United Nations to try to improve living standards around the world by 2030. The girls both worked with students from the global NAE community on their chosen SDG before presenting to NAE’s CEO, Andrew Fitzmaurice, and Chief Education Officer, Dr Elise Ecoff. We are exceptionally proud of how both girls pushed themselves out of their comfort zone and created international connections for life, while also tackling the SDGs and helping make the world a better place for everyone.

The girls also enjoyed excursions to Summit ONE Vanderbilt, Times Square, the Highline park and arcade restaurant Dave and Buster’s. A thoroughly good time was had by all and firm friendships made for life!

Robyn and Da In will remain our school’s UNICEF Ambassadors and lead on projects promoting the SDGs over the coming academic year. We cannot wait to see what they come up with, so watch this space!
