FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• Who qualifies as a Referring Family?

  Any current BIS Hanoi family who introduces a new family or your other child(ren) not joining BIS Hanoi yet to the school before they make an enquiry or application.
• What is the benefit for the Referring Family?

  You will receive a 20% discount on the discounted annual tuition fees for one child, starting from the youngest, for each successful enrolment, valid for up to five academic years.

  If you refer a new family who successfully enrols at our school, you will receive a 20% discount on tuition fees for one child, starting from the youngest, for each successful enrolment. This discount will be applied annually for up to five academic years until AY2029-2030, provided the referred student begins their studies between January 2026 and October 2026.

• Can I get a discount for more than one child?

  Yes. If you refer two new enrollments (from the same or different families), your older child will also be eligible for the 20% discount.

  If you refer from the 3rd new enrollment (from the same or different families), your third (if any) child will also be eligible for the 20% discount. 

• What is the benefit for the Referred Family?

  Each child enrolled by the referred family will receive a 20% tuition discount, also valid for up to five academic years.
• Can the Referred Family also refer others?

  Yes, they can refer other families. However, they will only retain the original 20% discount for their enrolled children and will not receive additional discounts.
• What happens if the Referred Family leaves the school early?

  If the referred family leaves before the end of the 2029–30 academic year, the discount for the referring family will be removed.
• Can I refer a family who has already contacted the school?

  No. The referral must be made before the family enquires or applies. Retrospective referrals from December 1st are not eligible.
• Can this discount be combined with other offers?

  No. The referral discount cannot be combined with other discounts such as scholarship, sibling or corporate discounts.
• Can we receive a referral discount if the company pays 100% of the school fees?

  No. The referral discount is only applicable to the portion of tuition fees that is paid personally by parents. If the company covers the full tuition fee, the referral discount does not apply.
• What happens if school fees are paid partially by the company and partially by parents?

  If the company pays a portion of the tuition fees, Admissions will verify the exact percentage or amount paid by the company and may request supporting documentation. The school will issue the VAT invoice under the company's name or the parent's name based on the actual value that each party is responsible for. The referral discount (up to 20%) will be applied only to the portion of tuition fees paid personally by parents. This means:

  • The discount value is calculated based on the total tuition fees
  • However, the discount is capped at the amount the parents are responsible for paying
• How do I refer a family?

  You can refer a family by completing the Referral Form given above.
• Is there a deadline to refer families?

  • Referred Student Eligibility: Students must start between January 2026 and October 2026 to receive a discount till AY2029-2030.
  • Referring family reward: Rewards begin once the referred student starts. For students enrolling in 2025/2026, the reward will be pro-rated against our published annual fee. Discounts continue until and inclusive of AY2029/2030 providing the referee student stays enrolled. 
• Are BIS Hanoi staff able to refer families?

  Yes. However, only referred families are able to receive discount.
