Blended English and International

Year 1 and 2 Primary curriculum

At age 5-6 your child will join us in Year 1 and age 6-7 your child will join us in Year 2 of Primary. Our pioneering primary programme combines the key elements of the English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum (IPC), unlocking a world of possibilities. Providing excellent teaching and learning in the core subjects – as well as tailored sporting, creative, and social opportunities – our curriculum provides an all-round education that enables each student to flourish.

English National Curriculum

The English National Curriculum teaches the fundamental knowledge and skills your child will need to flourish. As well as focusing on English, maths and science, your child will develop personally, socially, and emotionally. Our framework of academic excellence, values, and wellbeing – which are the hallmarks of the curriculum – prepare our students for the challenges of secondary education.

International Primary Curriculum

In subjects including geography, history, art, and design technology, your child will follow the International Primary Curriculum. This thematic, creative programme, with clear personal, subject, and learning goals, can be adapted to each student’s interests and level of understanding. It also gives our students an international and intercultural perspective.

Our primary curriculum is brought to life by our talented team of teachers, who are invested in every aspect of your child’s personal and academic development. In music, art, ICT, PE, Vietnamese culture, French, Spanish, and Mandarin, specialist teachers create unforgettable learning opportunities, both in and outside of lessons. This is complemented by our pastoral team, who offer outstanding care, guidance, and support.

Enriching opportunities

Day-to-day learning is enhanced by our extensive selection of co-curricular activities on offer from sports, drama, music, arts, leadership, and the environment, providing exciting opportunities after school. Local excursions, expert guest speakers, and child-led exhibitions open our students’ eyes to a world beyond the classroom.

English as an additional language (EAL)

Whilst all lessons are taught in English, we are able to offer additional English language support for non-native English speakers through our outstanding EAL department, if needed and dependent on level of support and availability. EAL teachers typically will work alongside your child’s teacher to build solid foundations for their future, allowing them to thrive in our international environment.

A smooth transition to Junior School for Year 3

We know that moving to a larger campus with older children can be daunting. Our bespoke support programme, which begins in Year 2, involves class teachers, heads of year, and student ambassadors to help our Year 2 students make the move to Year 3 in our Junior campus. We make sure our students are well prepared and excited for the next phase of their educational journey.
