ABRSM High Scorers’ Concert, as it happened... The top scoring 35 Students from the ABRSM Examinations in June were invited to perform their favourite piece at the High Scorers’ Concert, which BIS was proud to host on Saturday 19th September.

At the ABRSM practical exam session in June, nearly 400 students performed a series of set pieces, scales and sight-reading to our visiting examiner to earn their ABRSM graded certificates.

The top scoring 35 Students were invited to perform their favourite piece from this exam at the High Scorers’ Concert, which BIS was proud to host on Saturday 19th September.

High Scorers’ Concerts are informal concerts that celebrate the achievements of the highest scoring students. BIS was represented by students from all 3 campuses along with other students from schools around the city. The music was extremely well played and the setting informal and relaxed. Instruments heard included cello, double bass, violin and piano.

The AP2 performers were Celestine Koh Sin Yin (violin), Jacqueline Chan (piano), Sanny Wu (piano), Inthira Mckenzie (violin), Naomi Martin (Double Bass), Yu Geong Kang (cello), Chae Won Oh (cello). AP1 was represented by Anya Chakrabarty (violin), Serena Lee (piano), Jessie Jeong (piano) and Jhawer Moksh represented the TX campus.

Some of the BIS students had the following quotes about the concert:

"All the hard work and time put into preparing for the ABRSM exams paid off. Everyone sounded and looked amazing; it was an evening to remember. ABRSM high scorers' concert 2016 awaits!"

“The ABRSM High Scorer's Concert was very fun and exciting. It was an honour for me to be there. There were lots of other instruments, and there were, as you might have expected, lots of piano players. It was fun listening to all of the performances and I hope I am there again next year.”

Well done to all the musicians who achieved ABRSM exam success this year and look forward to seeing you next year.
