It was amazing to see the variety and the amazing costumes. The children then participated in a variety of activities to show them a little bit more about the lives of the people who lived during different periods of time. These activities included; writing using ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, painting using natural materials such as spices in the style of prehistoric man, moulding clay bowls and figurines using Minoan influences, writing your name like a Viking using runes and fighting like a gladiator in Ancient Rome.
It was a wonderful opportunity for all the children to have a glimpse into the past and prepare them for the unit of study, AD 900.
