The FOBISIA Writing Competition winners from APP, TX and BVIS gathered together on Friday 28th April for a creative writing workshop in the Imaginarium at BVIS.
We joined together to write encounters for a brilliant board game called The World Below, created by Ms Ellie and Ms Jules at TX. Children from Year 1 to Year 6 had fun playing The World Below together to inspire them and then they got inventing and innovating their own encounter stories.
Everyone was motivated and inspired and we created 32 new stories to add to the board game. It was a wonderful day that celebrated the talented writers we have at our schools and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
Keep your eyes peeled for The World Below board game appearing around school. I guarantee you will enjoy going on encounters in the caves!
To top off the event, we heard the results from the FOBISIA Creative Writing Competition this week. The theme of the competition was 'Colours'. Chris Bradford the overall judge said, “I was truly impressed with all of the entries. A very high standard was shown and in my eyes every entrant was a winner.”
This was wonderful recognition for all our winners. Even more impressively however, was the fact Raghav Dwivedi from Year 6 at British International School, HCMC, was selected as the overall winner of the Primary Section of the competition!
Here’s what the judges had to say about his work: "'A Lighter Shade of Brown’ is by far the outstanding winner in this category. Very mature writing, wonderfully evocative and beautifully told. Both a social commentary and a joyous story of friendship. A true talent in your midst!”
We are all superbly proud of Raghav’s achievement. He adds this victory to his Nord Anglia Education Story Writing Competition win earlier in the year.
