The Community Project for Year 8 involves visiting Thao Dien School for Disabled Children during their ILS lesson. This year, each year 8 class will be visiting Thao Dien twice to do the different activities that they have prepared.
All activities are related to either fruit or vegetables which will support Thao Dien student’s understanding of food for their new vocational cooking class.
Before their first visit, students spent time learning about Thao Dien and the children there, then they planned various activities related to fruit. During our first visit, our students were a bit nervous and excited at the same time to meet the children. They got along well and started to interact with each other as soon as we arrived and started our activities. They had fun interacting with our students whilst painting, drawing, using clay to make fruits, decorating paper art and learning some of the fruits vocabulary in English via flash cards.
Although it was just two short visits, it was a great opportunity for our students to leave their comfort zone and have a fruitful experience working with different people in our community!

We are thrilled that four of our Year 13 students have recently gained offers from ‘Elite’ USA universities.
With over 1,200 students, staff, and parents participating in the 5km run or walk, the event was a true reflection of the school’s commitment to fostering a strong sense of community.
What do you do when you have school uniforms that are now too small, or you no longer need them, but you don’t want to simply throw them away? For BIS HCMC parents, Bibi, Margot, and Ying, this dilemma sparked an inspiring solution—the Parent Uniform Upcycling Team.
At BIS HCMC, leadership is more than just a title — it’s about inspiring others, fostering a sense of community, and embracing personal growth. This year’s Head Students, in Year 13, — Atom, JaeYeon, Tim, and Serena — embody these values with authenticity and dedication, each bringing their unique strengths, creativity, and passion to their roles.
