BIS HCMC welcomes Juilliard Curriculum Dance Specialist

BIS HCMC welcomes Juilliard Curriculum Dance Specialist - bis-hcmc-welcomes-juilliard-curriculum-dance-specialist
BIS HCMC welcomes Juilliard Curriculum Dance Specialist Earlier this week, our Juilliard Curriculum Dance Specialist, Salla Saarikangas, made her first visit to BIS to help guide us in creating a bespoke Dance curriculum for our students.

We recently announced the launch of the Juilliard-Nord Anglia Dance Programme here at the British International School Ho Chi Minh City. This week we welcomed Juilliard Curriculum Dance Specialist, Salla Saarikangas  who is guiding us in creating a bespoke Dance curriculum for our students.

Salla visited all three campuses to lead a series of demonstration lessons and also to observe those staff who received specialised Juilliard Dance CPD at the start of this year leading their own lessons from the Juilliard Creative Classroom, offering support and guidance to these teachers. A definite highlight of Salla’s visit was her Parents’ Workshop, during which she led a series of activities exploring why choreographers make artistic choices about different-sized groupings within a dance.

Although a Creative Dance programme is still only in its infancy at BIS HCMC, we have a clear vision for the future of Dance as a clear Performing Arts subject in its own right and will be creating opportunities for our students to explore their self-expression through movement throughout this year.
