Mr. Chris Ellison

Math Teacher
Christopher-Ellison
I graduated in 2010 from the University of Wales, Caerleon Campus, with a degree in Maths and Computer Science, with Qualified Teacher Status. Before I even had my graduation ceremony I had a job in Berlin, my first teaching post, which I started in April 2010 at an international school, teaching the IGCSE and IB curricula. Since then I have worked in international schools in Braunschweig (Germany), Ibiza (Spain) and Milan (Italy), before coming to BISB in August 2013. I have taught all of the different courses in the old and new syllabi of the IBDP and have been teaching HL Math (in some form or another) since 2012. I love this job (I always joke I would work for free if I didn't have to pay rent) for two reasons. First I love mathematics with a passion, and there is never a moment when I don't enjoy doing something math based. Secondly I love the moments when students come to a realization of a concept they have been struggling with and it suddenly makes sense: these moments make my week. I grew up in the UK and joined the British Army at 16, serving for nearly 6 years. My passions (outside of math) include Theology and philosophy, both of which I love to study when I can.
