I began working in education 9 years ago after a decade long career in Retail Management. I started in the job due to my wife accepting a position at an international school, not quite knowing what to expect. To my immense surprise, I found that I loved working in schools, particularly with our youngest students. This is in part because of the tremendous impact quality teaching can have on children at this age, preparing them for primary school and hopefully fostering a lifelong love of learning. This has led me to embark on a teaching degree. I am currently 3/4s of the way through my BA in Primary Education which I do part time after school, after which I hope to become a qualified teacher. Outside of school, I still follow my hometown football club,St Mirren and am an avid rugby fan, following any Scotland game, no matter the heartbreak it causes!
