Helen Carruthers - I have spent 28 years in the classroom, developing minds in Geography, Travel & Tourism, and Environmental Studies, while also taking on leadership roles including Curriculum Leader, Humanities Leader, SLT member for Teaching & Learning, and lecturing trainee teachers the PGCE at Leeds Beckett University. With a Geography degree from Liverpool university and a PGCE from Sheffield university, I have followed my passion for the outdoors around the globe from my home town of Hull in Yorkshire to many Six Nations rugby games too. When not teaching or biking, I enjoy mastering the fine art of chicken maintenance. Teaching runs in my blood, quite literally I come from a long line of teachers and now my younger neice's and nephew's are entering the profession- which makes me very proud.
