Outstanding Experiences

One-of-a-kind experiences and adventures make learning as fun as it can be!
Amazing opportunities beyond traditional academics

Our dynamic curriculum makes learning fun, inside and outside the classroom. We help students build skills and explore new interests, while promoting self-motivation and problem-solving. Academics are treated with as much importance as a healthy mindset and lifestyle, supporting the holistic development of our students. 99% of our parents believe their child is receiving a high-quality education.
Academic Excellence

At BISC-LP, your child has the opportunity to take center stage and create something beautiful — all in an age-appropriate environment, infused with the right level of competition and encouragement.
Sports and Athletics
Your child can take part in a wide range of skill-based, competitive sports opportunities beginning in Nursery (age 3) in an inclusive yet challenging sports environment.
Sports and Athletics

Students are welcomed into our athletic clubs and sports teams. They can take part in both before and after school programs. Our sports teams teach students to play competitively and build their teamwork skills as they compete against other local schools. Even our nursery children can get involved with school sports in encouraging, age-appropriate versions of the sports they’ll play as they get older. Some popular choices for students include soccer, fencing, tae kwon do, basketball, tennis and track.

Performing Arts/Studio 814
Every student should get the chance to be a star and with Studio 814, they can — whatever school year they’re in. We instill a love of the performing arts in our students and encourage them to follow their passions.
Innovative and creative students find a variety of outlets through our STEAM-focused clubs.

Students have the chance to build on what they learn through our MIT STEAM program by extending their learning in after-school clubs such as STEM Scouts and Curious Creators. They may learn to code and build robots or work in our design lab on research and design projects that bring all the STEAM disciplines together. Our studio arts also offer a range of opportunities to develop their creativity through options like Comic Book Club, which has them writing and illustrating graphic novels, or Project Runway Club, focused on textiles and fashion design.

We work with our colleagues at South Loop to give our students amazing experiences at all ages of their school life.
Local Trips
We’re proud of our Chicago heritage, so some of the best trips we take our students on are right here in the Windy City (or slightly further afield).
Local Trips
We take advantage of our urban setting and take our students on many safe, informative local trips to cultural and historical destinations. We visit museums, performances, and places of business/industry linked to the curriculum, and historical or architectural points of interest.
Inter-state trips and Sleep Away Camps
When we head out of Illinois, we open our students' minds to safe, challenging, rewarding experiences they might not get at home.
Inter-state trips and Sleep Away Camps
Sleep-away camps in Michigan and Wisconsin are great ways for our students to start to hone their wilderness skills with activities like canoeing, making smores, archery and more. These activities get them out of the city and into the woods to explore, team build and gain experiences in new environment away from home -- building resilience, independence and an appreciation for nature.
Ski trips
Skiing is a great way to meet new friends, keep fit and introduce children to a whole new activity.
Ski trips
Students travel to Wisconsin to hit the slopes. In between ski runs, the students snow tube, sip hot chocolate and take in a change of scenery up north. Evenings are full of fun with friends, letting students create new experiences and develop independence away from home.
Young Explorers & Pioneers
Through school vacations, students can continue learning with interactive, fun camps that focus on everything from STEAM workshops to cooking classes and more.
Young Explorers & Pioneers
Students can take part in amazing activities like ice sculpting in the winter break or visiting local parks in the summer. Trips to the Shedd Aquarium, Museum of Science and Industry and Lincoln Park Zoo are all part of the Young Explorers and Pioneers’ experience. These immersive activities are light and accessible, allowing campers to enjoy their vacation in a fun, inclusive environment—while still contributing to their education.
Sports Camp
Some young students love dedicating their vacation time to their favorite sports — and they can with a BISC-LP sports camp.
Sports Camp
This is an active, engaging choice for children who enjoy team games and developing their individual athletic skills. Every day we offer seasonal indoor and outdoor sports. At camp, participants play team sports such as basketball, soccer, hockey, bowling and badminton.
Studio 814
Studio 814 is a performing arts camp tailored to those students with a love of the stage.
Available when your child attends South Loop, high school students travel to Arusha, Tanzania, on a two-week trip to work on construction projects and learn about sustainable development.
The Citizenship Expedition fosters a sense of global belonging through service work with a local community. Our students engage in construction programs while witnessing first-hand the importance of sustainable development and environmentalism.
Global Games
Available when your child graduates to South Loop, middle school students compete with their peers from across The Americas in a host of sporting activities.
Global Games
After participating in the opening ceremony with Nord Anglia Education schools from across The Americas, students discover the meaning of teamwork as they compete in sports from archery to track and field, and swimming to beach volleyball.

Our nine school values are embodied by our Goal Squad characters and are used to embed character development and social emotional learning into school life. We celebrate when these values are demonstrated in the learning and personal choices our students make, as they find the best ways to look after their own well-being, while developing mental resilience.

Students are also supported by our school counsellor, alongside other specialists, who can help BISC-LP students to develop resilience, find the right path for the future and deal with any ongoing issues.

While mindfulness is embedded right across our curriculum, your child can also access a wealth of resources on well-being through our exclusive online platform, Global Campus.

We’re proud of our Chicago heritage at BISC-LP and we support students in positive local efforts throughout their time with us.

Students partner with over 20 local organizations on service projects. These activities empower them to consciously make a positive change in the place they call home.

Your child will use some of the skills picked up in our adaptable curriculum to enhance charity efforts too. Our annual Maker Faire is an example of this as it gives every student the opportunity to develop their design and innovation skills by creating a new product that solves a real-world problem, bringing into practice the abilities they learned in MIT classes. Then, they sell their product to raise money for a related charity.

Our campus offers an enriching learning environment. Students have the perfect surroundings to grow and learn with the nurturing support of the world’s best teachers.
