Originally from a town called Llanelli in South West Wales, I am incredibly proud to be Welsh - a nation known for its green hills and valleys, ancient castles, folklore, choral songs and ever-stretching coastlines. I’ve been teaching for twelve years, and I’m now in my eighth year at BISC-LP. Since moving to Chicago with my husband in 2018, the city has become home. We love exploring everything it has to offer, especially its vibrant neighborhoods and incredible food scene. We spend many weekends trying out new restaurants (or repeatedly revisiting old favorites!). I also have a passion for interior design, with Chicago once again providing many opportunities to delve into design. At BISC-LP, I’ve taught in both Phase One and Phase Two, each offering unique opportunities to grow as an educator. Understanding where students have come from and where they’re heading (both academically and personally) helps me to stretch, challenge, and support them effectively. As a Student Community Director at the school, I’m committed to student wellbeing, social and emotional education, and self-esteem development. I believe that when students feel safe, celebrated and have a sense of belonging, they are equipped to thrive in all areas of their development with us.
