Luke believes that learning should be engaging, meaningful, and above all, enjoyable. In his view, happiness is at the heart of a successful education. When students feel confident, valued, and inspired, they are best positioned to thrive both academically and personally. One of the reasons he was drawn to primary education is the creativity, energy, and sense of fun that each day brings for both students and teachers. He has been teaching for 15 years, beginning his career in Southport, UK, before embarking on an international journey that has taken him to schools in Kuala Lumpur, Bogotá, Frankfurt, and Mallorca. Throughout his career, he has taught students from Year 3 through to Year 9 and has also worked as a specialist Computer Science teacher. He is currently teaching Year 6 and serving as Maths Lead at his present school. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys making short films, writing screenplays, and reading about history and science. He also loves puzzles and quizzes, and students can expect to encounter plenty of exciting problem-solving challenges in class. Having been fortunate to work in a number of outstanding schools throughout his career, he looks forward to continuing to learn, grow, and contribute as a member of the British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park community.
