Ms. Fenables

Sophie is excited to be joining the British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park and cannot wait to get to know all of the children and families this year. She trained to become a teacher in the United Kingdom and studied at the University of Greenwich in London. For the past four years, she has been teaching Year 5 at an international British school in Dubai, UAE. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time there and has been fortunate to travel to some incredible countries during the school holidays. Travelling is one of her greatest passions, and one of her favourite recent destinations was the Maldives, where she enjoyed snorkelling and exploring the beautiful coral reefs. She strongly believes that children learn best when they are happy, confident, and willing to challenge themselves by trying new things. She is passionate about creating a positive and supportive classroom environment where creativity, curiosity, and confidence can flourish. She also enjoys encouraging children to explore different ways of learning so they can discover the approaches that help them succeed most effectively. Outside of teaching, she enjoys exploring new places, spending time with friends and family, and continuing to learn new things herself. She loves bringing enthusiasm, positivity, and energy into the classroom each day and helping children feel proud of their achievements. She is really looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and is excited to see everything that can be achieved together throughout this academic year.
