Ms. Little

Originally from the small city of Carlisle in the North of England, close to the beautiful Lake District and the Scottish border, Freys developed a love of the outdoors while growing up surrounded by nature, a passion she continues to enjoy today. She graduated from the University of Cumbria with a degree in Primary Education, specialising in Early Years. She then began her international teaching journey at a Nord Anglia British International School in Kuwait, where she spent the past five years teaching in Reception and Year 1. Passionate about Early Years education, she believes children learn best through play, exploration, and meaningful hands-on experiences. She strives to create a nurturing and stimulating classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to be curious. By following children's interests and providing opportunities for discovery, she aims to help them develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Building strong relationships with children and their families is at the heart of her teaching philosophy, and she believes these partnerships help every child flourish. Outside of school, she enjoys travelling, reading, spending time with friends and family, and exploring beautiful places on long walks. As this will be her first year in Chicago, she is excited to discover all that the city has to offer and would love to hear recommendations on how to make her first year unforgettable. She is very much looking forward to meeting the children and their families and becoming part of the British International School of Chicago, Lincoln Park community.
