Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad
On Saturday, March 21 a team of high school and middle school students left school at 5:30am to compete in the Science Olympiad regional competition. The students have been preparing for this event since September, working hard to get ready for competition. They have attended weekly practice sessions, given up weekends for extra practice and competed in their first invitational event.
The competition was held at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, and saw over 50 teams compete across all the scientific disciplines in 23 different events. It was a busy day but the teams were super; they supported each other and their team spirit shone through. Their commitment throughout the year paid off with Medals for 13 of the 15 strong middle school team members in nine events and a further three medals for the high school team. The jangle of medals made for very happy students on the return to the bus, and they enjoyed a fun celebration on Wednesday.
