Happy Year of the Monkey! To celebrate Chinese New Year, students in Year 9 Mandarin took part in a paper-cutting activity. The catch? They had no idea what they were creating.

The students followed a YouTube tutorial, folding and cutting as the video instructed. After about 15 minutes, it was time for the big reveal. Surprise! They crafted the well-known Chinese character called Double Happiness, which is always depicted on a red piece of paper. The symbol represents great wishes for a new year: love, happiness and luck.

We wish you the same!
