We have collected 11,000 pairs of socks over the past two years.

Our goal this year is 4,000 pairs!

Since we first started the sock drive, the US has experienced three consecutive years of increased homelessness. This has obviously been further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the unemployment rate approximately 80% higher than this time last year.

Please read below for more information.

Logistics: Donate between February 22nd - March 8th

Virtual Students: Please donate socks via this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bisc-sl-sock-drive-tickets-139986602697 $2 = 1 pair of socks

In order to reduce emissions from transport and plastic waste from individual packaging, the online donations will be purchased in bulk at the end of the drive.

In-Person Students: Drop off socks at the bins that will be set up by each front door.

Monday, March 8th: Free dress day for students who have donated Why Socks Are Important: Socks are the most needed clothing item, yet one of the least donated items. Socks have a lot of benefits for those who are homeless, especially in the colder months. They can be worn on feet, worn as gloves, used to hold items, used as a luffa, as well as many other purposes.
