Emelina Ortiz

Emelina is a native of Chicago and have spent her career dedicated to early childhood education. With a master’s degree in Child Development from Erikson Institute, she has spent the past 20 years teaching across Preschool, Junior Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. She is passionate about creating engaging and supportive learning environments for young children, and she is excited to bring this dedication to the Early Childhood team at the British International School of Chicago. As an educator, she believes in the power of play, inquiry, and connection to guide young learners as they grow. She strives to build a classroom community where each child feels seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are.
