Ms. Lyons
Nerea Lyons began teaching in 2010 and first joined the British International School of Chicago in the summer of 2012 when the secondary school was still at our Lincoln Park campus. A native bilingual Spanish speaker, Nerea studied Spanish as a major at college, alongside History and Portuguese. As well as teaching middle school and lower high school Spanish, she is one of our IB Language B teachers, developing both our Standard and Higher Level curricula. Nerea believes that what makes our school so unique is the mix of students from the Chicagoland area with our students from the international community. Teaching languages at the British International School of Chicago is so enjoyable because our students value the opportunities to learn different languages and about other cultures. Nerea loves everything that Chicago has to offer, but particularly loves the incredible food and restaurants!
