Our British and international primary school curriculum
Our primary students (Years 1-6) follow the English National Curriculum, which teaches the fundamental knowledge and skills every child needs to flourish. As well as focusing on English, maths and science, your child will enjoy opportunities that help them develop personally, socially, and emotionally.
Adapted to our local and international context, our primary education is divided into two phases: Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
At Key Stage 1, our children develop their core literacy and numeracy skills, as well as following a broad curriculum that includes humanities, art, STEAM, music, PE, and languages.
Our Key Stage 2 curriculum is packed with stimulating learning experiences in and beyond the classroom, which encourage our students to collaborate, ask questions, and learn independently. Students study English, maths, STEAM, humanities, art, PE, and languages.
Throughout their primary education, your child will consider topics from multiple perspectives, enjoy hands-on projects, and make meaningful connections across specific subjects. This makes learning fun, while building a strong academic foundation that allows them to excel.
Learning a second language is also an important part of our primary students’ development, bringing many academic, personal, and cultural benefits. Every child receives four hours of either Mandarin or Spanish. Our Malaysian students also take Bahasa Melayu.
Our teachers bring learning to life in practical ways, too. This includes termly excursions to local museums and places of interests, as well as – from Year 4 – exciting overnight trips in Malaysia and abroad.
