The tour provided a fantastic opportunity to represent the Lions, take part in sport, experience life on tour, and develop teamwork, sportsmanship, friendships and independence.
Day 1 – Travel to Penang The tour began with a smooth bus journey to Penang, made even more enjoyable by Mr Carus’ Bus Quiz, which tested pupils’ knowledge with some fun and surprising Penang facts. On arrival at the ParkRoyal Resort, pupils enjoyed pool time, followed by a luxurious buffet dinner and a special celebration for Xing Yen’s birthday – complete with plenty of cake.
Day 2 – Athletics & Swimming We travelled to Prince of Wales International Island School (POWIIS) to compete in Athletics and Swimming events alongside Stonyhurst Penang, Sri KDU Penang, St Christopher’s International School and Uplands International School. Our pupils were excellent ambassadors for BSKL, performing confidently in both the pool and on the track, showing outstanding sportsmanship and making new friendships. The day ended with some well-earned downtime in the ParkRoyal cinema room, followed by another delicious buffet dinner.
Day 3 – Football & Tee-ball A highly anticipated day of Football and Tee-ball matches awaited us. Wearing our Penang Sports Tour T-shirts, the Lions truly roared, demonstrating resilience, teamwork and encouragement across all games. The focus was never on winning or losing, but on participation, effort and supporting one another as teammates. We finished the tour with pizza for lunch before departing back to KL.
The Penang Sports Tour was a wonderful experience for our pupils and a true reflection of our inclusive and positive approach to PE and sport. It created long-lasting memories and valuable learning beyond the classroom. A huge thank you to Mrs Sackley, Mr Booth and Mr Carus for leading the tour, and to our incredible parent community for their continued support throughout the trip.
