BSKL wins two Nord Anglia Global Awards for outstanding IGCSE results

When BSKL Principal Ms Vanessa Whay flew to Switzerland to attend the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) SLT conference, she expected little more than a chance to mingle and exchange ideas with principals from other NAE schools on how best to improve BSKL in Malaysia.

Little did she know that when it was time to give out the awards, BSKL’s name was called, and she went on stage to receive the awards for IGCSE excellence.

She received two awards from NAE CEO Andrew Fitzmaurice – one for best IGCSE results in the Southeast Asia and India region, and one for outstanding IGCSE results globally.

“It was a moment I cannot forget – I was talking to someone halfway, and I got called to go on stage to receive these two awards! What an honour,” she said recently.

She also thanked her predecessor, Dr Mike O’Connor, and former Head of Secondary Dr Nicola Brown for driving academic excellence and proving that happiness does indeed fuel success.

“I was so proud to represent the school in receiving these awards. This is an amazing honour for the school, but the honour goes to Dr O’Connor and Dr Brown for all of their work in school to receive the awards. We congratulate the Secondary school for their hard work, and may we continue to receive accolades repeatedly,” she said.

BSKL has long been recognised as one of Malaysia's leading IGCSE schools. With this latest recognition from Nord Anglia Education, our Secondary School has further cemented its reputation as an institution that empowers students to excel and reach their fullest potential.

As our Year 9 students prepare to explore their new IGCSE subject options later this term, and our current Year 11 cohort looks ahead to their examinations next year, this achievement serves as a powerful source of inspiration and motivation to strive for excellence.
