Year 6 Mountain Trip: Day 3 - Archery Another beautiful day in the mountains for year 6 and more new experiences. The children were very fortunate to have been given archery lessons by the Uzbekistan Olympic Archery Team. After a team briefing, the children were divided into two groups. One group began a warmup with the archery team while the other group continued their Native American topic by learning about and making dream catchers. Once warmed up, the ‘archers’ had the opportunity to be given 1:1 lessons in how to use a traditional bow and an Olympic standard bow. After lunch, we went to a nearby wood in search of materials to construct our own bow and arrows. The final evening was full of surprises. The children enjoyed a variety of shashlik followed by cake and ice cream. There was entertainment in the form of singing and party games. The children then went to the open air amphitheater to perform in a mini talent show. Finally we all enjoyed a peaceful moment of reflection around a campfire.
