On May 23, BVIS Hanoi students from Year 7, 8 and 9 had the opportunity to compete in their first Mathematics House Competition. The competition took place in different venues of the Secondary Campus. Students were divided into 4 groups as Hue House, Sai Gon House, Da Lat House, and Ha Noi House.

The competition was split into 3 rounds and each tested a different Maths skill. The relay round was all about fast problem solving with students trying one question at a time and then running around the hall to collect the next question, which increased in difficulty. The duel round involved them using their mental arithmetic while competing against another individual to make the number 24.  The tangram round improved their understanding of spatial relationships.  Students were engaged throughout and some excellent teamwork was witnessed throughout the day.
