All 9 BVIS teams heading to the WSC Global Round in Manila Congratulations on the fantastic performance of the BVIS World Scholar’s Cup team at the Hanoi Regional Round.

We are very happy to announce the fantastic performance of the BVIS World Scholar’s Cup team at the Hanoi Regional Round. The event took place on Saturday May 25th and Sunday May 26th and was led by Ms Claire Bower (Head of Humanities) and Mrs Kirstin McKie (Head of Media Studies).

This year we took 9 teams and our thanks goes to our 5 excellent Year 9 student coaches, Khanh Minh, Thach Anh, Bang Linh, Phuc Khanh and Duc Anh as well as Mr Lincoln who came to be a debate judge and Mr Whiffin who supported us at the University.

The team have been preparing for this event during ECA time since January and have been carefully studying the syllabus on this year’s theme: A World on the Margins.

Across the weekend our students participated in four events: Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, and Scholar’s Bowl.

The competition was particularly tough this year with long, 12 hour days and the whole team were a credit to BVIS Hanoi. Our students scored excellently with every team qualifying for the Global Round in Manila this September. Van Anh was even chosen as part of 8 delegates to take part in the debate showcase out of 500 plus students in the competition.

Well done Team BVIS!
