Early Years & Primary Weekly Updates (8/5 - 12/5) Weekly letter from Head of Primary - Mr Malcolm Wood

Dear parents

We all want our children to eat well and to achieve this, it is important that the food appeals to them, so that they eat enough. At the same time, we should recognize that undereating is a less frequent health issue than overeating amongst those who can afford it. A healthy balanced diet is what we all need.

My son has always been fairly open to different foods, but my daughter was a very particular eater from the age of 5 to 11. Thankfully, she has come through it and decided she wants to eat a healthy, balanced diet. I know that some of the children at school love their lunch and eat it eagerly, but others are less easily pleased.

Our Student Ambassadors showed their great worth again this week. They have studied feedback from our students to identify the pupils’ lunch dish preferences. As a result, eight dishes will be banished from the menu. Next week, there will be a meeting between our Student Ambassadors and our caters to find replacement dishes that will wet the children’s appetites.

If you would like to come in and sample our school lunch, please let Primary School PA, Ms Giang, know and she will arrange a time for you to join me in the canteen.

Have a great weekend.

Warm regards
Malcolm Wood
