In January 2019, Ruth Pasquier (Rios-Morales), teacher of Collège Champittet, was awarded the degree of Executive master’s in International Education. This excellent part-time programme has been specifically designed and developed by King's College London in association with Nord Anglia Education. This programme is exclusively available for staff working in Nord Anglia Education schools. She is the first alumni of this prestigious University working at Collège Champittet.
Ruth said, “I am grateful to Nord Anglia Education and Collège Champittet for allowing me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills through the outstanding MA in International Education offered by King’s College London. Studying this master’s programme has been challenging, but enjoyable and extremely rewarding. The broad range of modules has enabled me to gain insight into every aspect of international education,”
Ruth also holds a Master and a Doctoral degree in Applied Economics and teaches Economics at the Pre-IB, IB and Swiss Maturité programmes. She has already been employing her knowledge and skills obtained in the MA programme, particularly she has been fostering creativity in the classroom. Ruth’s MA thesis focused on the topic of creativity. The importance of creativity in this era of rapid change lies in the significant role it plays in the development of innovation, scientific discovery, technological invention, business progress, and economic prosperity. She is also excited to continue developing more research in this topical subject that should be of benefit to our students and to the wider academic community.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” Here at Champittet, we know that inspiring children to dream big while envisioning their future is a core part of education. It’s also the focus of Dare All Trades Day, or JOM (Journée Oser tous les Métiers).
The Winter Ball is an eagerly awaited annual tradition here at Champittet, but this year brought a twist: the school’s first ever Masquerade Ball. With the theme “Black and Gold, don’t forget your mask!”, this year’s winter dance was organised by 14th-grade IB students, and the event was open to students in grades 9 and 10.
Who says summer is far away? Registration is now open for the Champittet Leadership Camp!
