A new building for our youngest learners: Le Village opens its doors in 2025

Message du directeur - Message du directeur
Dear Champiteans,

A former director of the Nord Anglia group, Peter Hill, a seasoned Australian educator and government advisor, told me that the early years of school have a crucial impact on students' success later in life. It's in early childhood that the fundamentals of learning are built, both cognitively and emotionally. Since then, I've made a point of thanking not only the Swiss Maturité, IB and French Baccalaureate teachers, but also the primary school teachers who prepared our students for future success.

The Collège does not feel bound by an imported curriculum; it has developed its own, a kind of syncretism of Swiss, French and English approaches, with an emphasis on multilingualism and values. Children are stimulated a little faster than in the public sector, while respecting their developmental pace and cultivating their sociability. The Forest School provides a counterweight to screens and calms down school life.

It was time to come full circle: in August 2025, the school will welcome a new building called “The Village”, dedicated to pre-school, 1st and 2nd graders. Juniors will have their own canteen, and pre-schoolers will be able to go to the toilet in the classrooms, a considerable comfort at this age. Our Primary School Principal Geraldine Boland, with the help of her loyal colleagues, the deans and preschool headmistress, has developed an entire interior design plan, with furniture that is adapted, safe, soothing and conducive to learning.

The Village is a precursor to more extensive real estate development over the next five to six years. We look forward to welcoming you to the Village next fall.
