CHECK OUT OUR WEEKLY MENU

At Collège Champittet, we offer an ever-changing menu that provides the fuel our students need to learn.

Our menu is designed to be both tasty and packed with nutrition. In line with our focus on healthy living, we encourage our students to develop well-balanced eating habits that last a lifetime. We also emphasise the importance of sustainability and teach students to see the connection between the food that grows in the ground and the meals that arrive on their table.

A NUTRITION-BASED EDUCATIONAL APPROACH

Healthy food doesn't just nourish our bodies, it sustains our minds. The better our students eat, the better they'll focus in class. Our community views a nutritious and balanced diet as essential to success in the classroom and beyond.

As a result, we offer a food-focused health education programme that explains the benefits of a balanced diet. This interactive, game-based programme introduces our learners to the impact nutrients have on their cognition and emotions. The course was designed and implemented in partnership with education21, the centre of Switzerland's sustainable development education.

We also run a kitchen garden project. Students have the opportunity to grow, harvest, and eat their own fruits and vegetables. They also learn to prepare healthy foods, from homemade jams to vegetable-laden treats. As we teach students to sow, plant, cultivate, and cook, they further understand the progression of food from the ground to the table.

PROMOTING AFFORDABLE, HEALTHY SNACKS ON CAMPUS

Collège Champittet has taken steps to ensure our students have access to nutritious snacks on campus. This includes our campus café, which offers healthy food and drinks at a more affordable cost than sweet, fatty, or salty products.

On campus, unhealthy snacks, such as potato chips, are limited to certain hours of the day. In our dining room, we have taken extra measures to promote our greenest options and expanded our offerings.

Our goal is to dissuade students from making poor food choices and pursue a balanced diet. Over time, this will help them to build long-lasting healthy habits.
