PARENT ASSOCIATION (APEC)

Our families play an integral role in our community. You can get involved in school life in all sorts of ways, including joining the Association of Parents of Pupils of Champittet (APEC). The group connects parents, teachers, and management, with the shared goal of creating the best possible environment for our students.

THE APEC COMMITTEE STRUCTURE

The Association of Parents of Pupils of Champittet (APEC) committee is a group of volunteer parents elected by the General Assembly. The committee includes a president, secretary, treasurer, primary and secondary delegates, and several other active members.

The committee meets monthly to organise events, discuss the latest developments, and vote on new actions. Committee members play an active role in school life, from welcoming new families to planning fundraising activities.

THE APEC COMMITMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY

APEC is dedicated to furthering the mission and spirit of Collège Champittet. The committee communicates directly with every area of the school community, including:

Management: APEC meets quarterly with Collège Champittet management to discuss school projects.
Faculty: The committee meets regularly with our teachers to exchange ideas and discuss any concerns.
Parents: APEC collects feedback and suggestions from parents. These are then delivered to the school's management. The association also produces a newsletter, APEC-NEWS.
Students: APEC supports every aspect of student life. This includes advocating school values and promoting student events, from fine arts performances to sports fixtures.

APEC EVENTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Our Parent Association holds fundraising and social events throughout the year. While the schedule varies, APEC members can expect to enjoy traditional activities such as:

Guided city tours of Lausanne: APEC organises tours as a local introduction for newcomers and a social activity for long-time residents.
Welcome events: At the beginning of the school year, APEC welcomes new families through an integration programme and social event.
Annual Christmas baskets: APEC organises a yearly 'thank you' to Champittet staff in the form of a holiday gift basket.
General meetings and assemblies: Parents meet to discuss school changes and budgets, while welcoming new members alongside a wine and cheese menu.
