On Thursday, the children celebrated the end of their IPC unit on habitats and animal classification (entitled Land, Sea and Sky) with a variety of activities within the classrooms. Children presented about a habitat, stating the group classification of animals found within that habitat, and explained why and how they could be found there. For example, you could find a horse on a farm. The horse is a mammal, which means it’s warm-blooded, gives birth and produces its own milk to feed their offspring!

Children also presented poems, persuasive writing and information posters from their learning journey. Parents were also challenged to a ‘classification key quiz’, where parents had to find a specific animal from the clues presented in the quiz question. They also played matching pairs, displaying their new found knowledge to match animals to its classification group. After this, the parents were treated to a song and a show about animals in the music room. After answering some tricky questions from the children relating to their new-found knowledge, the parents were treated to donuts to celebrate their hard work!

Thank you to all the parents who turned up - we had a record amount who all left with a smile on their face after seeing first-hand the energy and enthusiasm demonstrated by the children in their learning journey and presentations.
