Compass International School Doha is delighted to announce that the school has been awarded accreditation for the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), a first for a school in the Middle East at time of publication. Following a rigorous review and accreditation visit, Compass International School Doha was awarded the accreditation and praised for excellent practice in the areas of “international mindedness” and “rigorous children’s learning” along with teachers’ “high expectations of learning.”

Only 26 schools globally have been awarded IPC Accreditation, and Compass International School Doha is proud to become the first IPC accredited school, not only in Qatar, but in the entire Middle East region.

The IPC is for Primary students and is used by over 730 schools in 92 countries worldwide. The IPC allows young children to explore the wonders of reading and mathematics, as well as art, history, geography, music, sport, technology and science, all taught and linked together by a common theme. The IPC provides children with Subject Goals, Personal and International Learning Goals, giving children clear objectives to achieve, whilst developing their sense of international mindedness.

Dr Terry Creissen OBE, Executive Principal, said: “Becoming the first IPC-accredited school in the Middle East is an incredible achievement and reflects the exceptional education on offer at Compass International School Doha. The accreditation is testament to the hard work and commitment by our teachers, parents and students to create an inspiring school community where every child is encouraged to be ambitious in their learning and to exceed expectations. Congratulations to our Team on this achievement and for epitomising our ‘Be Ambitious’ philosophy.”
