At Compass International School, we believe that teaching children empathy and compassion is as important as academic learning. One of the most meaningful ways we do this is through our partnership with UNICEF. Working with such a renown global organisation allows our students to understand real-world challenges, see the impact of their actions, and develop the skills needed to make a difference in their communities and beyond.
Our students work together to better understand the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which guide global efforts to create a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable world. These goals focus on tackling issues such as poverty, inequality, education, health, environmental protection, and peaceful communities. By connecting learning to these real-world challenges, students take part in projects that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical action. Through classroom activities and school-wide initiatives, insert a classroom activity that happened in one of our campuses, they see how their efforts can make a meaningful difference locally and globally.

We encourage students to apply what they learn in ways that directly benefit communities in need. For example, one of the most exciting opportunities is participating in trips to places like Tanzania, where our Compass PLUS students help build schools and support local projects. These experiences teach teamwork, resilience, and leadership while showing students how even small actions can make a big difference in the lives of others. Please insert a compelling quote from a student and/or teacher to provide social proof
Back on campus, students also take part in initiatives that benefit their local communities. This year, for World Children’s Day, our FCS parent community in Themaid led a clothes donation drive. The donations were collected and given to Qatar Charity to support families in need. Please insert a compelling quote from a FCS parent to connect their initiative to social purpose, one of our key tenets as a Nord Anglia school. Activities like this help students see the immediate impact of kindness and encourage them to think about how they can continue giving back throughout their lives.
Partnering with UNICEF allows our students to see how global collaboration works and why their contributions matter. They learn empathy through action, understanding the challenges faced by others and exploring solutions that are practical and meaningful. Through these experiences, children develop confidence, responsibility, and a sense of purpose, becoming compassionate global citizens who are motivated to make the world a better place.
At Compass International School, we are proud to create an environment where students are inspired to help others. From learning about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to participating in local and international projects list examples, our students are encouraged and have regular opportunities to use their skills, knowledge, and energy to make a real difference. Please insert a compelling quote from the UNICEF lead or person in charge of Social Impact about future UNICEF-related projects or initiatives.
By fostering empathy and empowering our students to take action, we prepare children not only to understand the world but to change it for the better.
