Learning how to give precise locations using 4 and 6-figure grid references
As part of their Bronze Award for the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA), students need to plan and navigate a route using maps and compasses. Students practised these skills by learning how to give precise locations using 4 and 6 figure grid references.
They also identified some of the key features of the landscape by identifying contour lines and how their shape, distance apart and height gives a clear indication of the shape of the land.
