On Friday afternoon DCIS students from Nursery to Year 6 took part in a school-wide yoga event down on the football pitch on the shaded courts, raising money for the sporting charity Happy Football Cambodia Australia (HFCA), a charity that supports underprivileged children in Cambodia through football. The children got to dress up as their favourite sports heroes, so we saw many football stars, gymnasts and tennis players.

Paraic Grogan, the Director and Founder of HFCA charity, displayed his gratitude by flying over from Cambodia and sharing some kind words with the students, thanking them for their support.

Both staff and students had enjoyable time learning how to use their bodies in a healthy and fun way and we had some talented ‘Yogis and Yoginis’ also on show. Miss Alison lead the Lower Primary students on the shaded court area while Miss Dodson lead hundreds of students from Upper Primary on the football pitch. EYFS gathered in Cooper Hall to follow a very entertaining youtube video using animals and characters to help the children copy the poses.

In total the school raised almost $3,000 dollars, with all proceeds going to HFCA.

Thank you once again for all students, parents and staff for supporting such a worthy cause.
