Our U11 FOBISIA Team has made us incredibly proud with their remarkable performance at the recent U11 FOBISIA Games 2025. They showcased their talent and brought home over 70 medals and six impressive trophies. Standing out among the competition, they were the only group to secure a trophy in every event, highlighting their dedication and teamwork throughout the games.
Recently, 24 of our Years 5 and 6 students travelled to Bangkok, Thailand to participate in the U11 FOBISIA Games 2025. Since November, our athletes have been dedicatedly training for this event, putting in countless hours of hard work to ensure they were fully prepared. Their efforts were richly rewarded as they returned to Singapore with a trophy in every event at the competition, along with over 70 individual medals. This marks the most successful performance in our school’s history at the FOBISIA Games, and it is a true testament to the commitment and perseverance demonstrated by our students.
The team arrived in Thailand on Saturday, eager for the competition. The opening ceremony on Sunday kicked off an exciting day of athletics and swimming. Despite initial nerves, the athletes performed excellently during the athletics events, earning numerous gold medals and podium finishes. The DCIS Wolves excelled and finished second overall.
The swimming events were highly successful for our students, who once again demonstrated their skills by earning multiple individual medals. Both of our tyre relay teams secured first place, showcasing great fun and team spirit throughout the competition. Ultimately, DCIS finished third overall in swimming, proudly bringing home the bronze trophy.
Monday featured the teeball competition, an event we had invested significant time in preparing for. Last year, our teams placed sixth and eighth, so our aim was to improve on this, which our teams more than delivered on! This year, the B team emerged unbeaten, claiming the first-place trophy with stellar performances throughout. The A team, not to be outdone, secured second place after overcoming tough competition and putting on an exceptional performance in the final.
Tuesday brought the football competition and shuttle relay events. Both our A and B teams brought home gold medals in the shuttle relay. The girls' football team displayed remarkable resilience, and played outstanding football, narrowly missing the gold and finishing with a very respectable second place. The boys’ team also showcased their skills, reaching the final after scoring a dramatic last-minute goal in extra time. In a tough final, our boys fought valiantly, securing a well-deserved second place.
Throughout the competition, our students were consistently praised for their teamwork, sportsmanship, and the respect that they showed for the opposing teams. Staff from other schools were impressed by how they celebrated the success of others, demonstrating both humility in victory and grace in defeat. Our students excelled in their performances and in how they handled challenges, bouncing back quickly from setbacks with determination. Their resilience was truly inspiring and contributed significantly to their success, both on and off the sports field.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the parents in Singapore and Thailand who supported our students and cheered them on throughout the competition. A special thanks to Ms Woodcock, Mr Edmonds, Mr Costello, and Ms Vertigans for their dedication, coaching, and guidance in preparing the students for the event. Their commitment to the team made all of this possible, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, care, and effort they invested in our students.
We are so incredibly proud of our team. Congratulations to the 2025 U11 FOBISIA Squad — they were exceptional in every way!
