Georgie graduated from the University of Leeds with BA (Hons) in Communications and English and gained her PGCE from the University of Sunderland.
Prior to teaching, Georgie had an exciting career in corporate events which saw her manage the world’s largest free film and education event for all UK schools. It was there, surrounded by the curiosity and positivity of young people, that she was inspired to pursue a career in teaching.
Georgie has worked at Dover Court for five years and is proud of the inclusive environment that is nurtured here. She believes that every classroom should be a place of warmth and belonging; somewhere children feel safe, cared for, and included. She prides herself on building positive and supportive environments in which children feel able to ask questions, take creative risks, and make what she calls “magical mistakes”. Learning, in her view, should always be fun, so children are excited to discover, challenge themselves, and find a love of learning.
Outside of school, Georgie is a passionate traveller and explorer; she loves to experience different cultures with her family and create special memories together. She adores the outdoors and is a keen hiker, having summited Ben Nevis, Mt. Kinabalu and Mt. Kilimanjaro. She is also a regular runner, but she says that’s mainly to enable her love of food!
