Charity running

12 June 2015

With a few marathons already under her belt, Mrs Lučna will be spending a significant part of her summer holiday this year running. Along with a small team of enthusiasts, she will be making her way from Casablanca to Barcelona (a distance of roughly 1,500km) to raise money for the Oasis charity.

  • Charity running

Oasis works to raise awareness of human trafficking, the organisation also helps those who have been trafficked and/or are at risk of being trafficked. This is Miss Lučna’s third year spent this way, having previously run from Bratislava to Brussels and from Sophia to Rome.  The routes are chosen because they are popular trafficking routes.
As she runs, Mrs Lučna and the team will try to raise awareness of horrors of trafficking.  I know that she does not find these runs easy - they are long distances, run under the pressure of time; the runners camp overnight and they meet victims of trafficking which is always emotional.
This year’s distance is extra challenging due to high temperatures and the terrain will be arduous.   We wish the team the very best of luck.  If you would like to support Mrs Lučna in her endeavour, I know that she would really appreciate any donation to this worthwhile cause that you feel able to give.
