Trip to Norway

10 March 2016

On January 8th my family and I took a trip to Norway. My sister already ran a few half marathons so we decided to go with her and run 6k. As we arrived, we found out that Tromsø only has about 2 hours of light every day. We went to get registered at the town hall and we already saw people slipping and falling on the ice.

  • Norway

It was suggested to us that we should buy special footwear so we don't slip on ice. On the day of the run, we went on a little hike to warm up and got ready. On the starting line my brother randomly decided that he wanted to run the half marathon with my sister and so they did. We were really hoping that we would see northern lights. At around the second kilometre we saw the northern lights. It was something spectacular. My mom and I finished at around 30 minutes, my sister finished with the main rush (2:03), but my brother still didn´t come so we had to wait for him at the finish line in freezing temperature. About 45 minutes later he finally reached the finish at around 2:40.
