This year, Northbridge International School Cambodia students in Primary school have enjoyed a variety of trips and experiences to enhance their learning. Educational field trips are an important part of the school’s overall co- and extra-curricular program. They play an integral role in students’ learning and we are committed to finding new and engaging places to visit as well as inviting people in to speak to our students so that their understanding can deepen regarding a particular topic or issue.

Here is a sample of some of the trips our students went on this year:

Takmeo Animal Rescue Center

During their Sharing the Planet unit, our Kindergarten students enjoyed a trip to the rescue center where they had guides accompanying them around to answer their questions and teach them about the different species at the center and their specific needs.

The Science Museum at Kids City

Our Grade 2 students visited the Science museum at Kids city as part of their How The World Works unit which had a focus on simple machines. At the museum, they were able to try their hand at working with pulleys, levers and wheels and made many connections to how these make work easier and how they are used by us in our daily lives.

Bloch Ballet Shoe Factory

As part of their How We Organise Ourselves unit focused on businesses, the Grade 4 class visited a ballet shoe factory. This allowed them to not only see the processes and systems involved in manufacturing but also talk to the owner about what inspired him to start the business.

Siem Reap

Our Grade 5 students enjoyed their first overnight school trip when they visited Siem Reap for three days. Not only did they visit some cultural landmarks such as Angkor Wat, but they also engaged in various activities that focused on developing healthy relationships and personal wellbeing. This was part of their Who We Are unit which focused on changes in ourselves and our relationships as we go through puberty.
