As a family, connecting with loved ones overseas was more important than making new year's resolutions and our plans for 2021 seemed less important to us.
Never has there been a year to start right than this one. Many people were in survival mode for 10 months last year, putting many plans on hold, yet still striving forward.
As a result, I truly believe that 2021 will be our most meaningful year yet. We will regain the power that Covid took away and focus on what is relevant and important in our lives. So how can we stay positive and realistic this year?
Be concise. Decide what your goals are, why they are important to you and write them down. Make them clear and concise. What will change in your life this year if you achieve them?
Be in the present. List all your goals in present tense rather than in the future.
Be realistic in your timeline. Write an action plan for how you will achieve your goals, and track your progress.
Commit. Are your goals in line with your priorities? What matters most in your life? Set goals that will motivate you to make a commitment because you believe in them.
Get support. Identify someone to support you in reaching your goals. Who will be your cheerleader this year?
Stay positive. Even the smallest success should be celebrated. It should be all about quality and not quantity this year.
So, what will this year be for you?
